Not much to say about Ottawa, but given what can finally download photos to the hostel Some of the Parliament, the channels and Cathedrall.
Parking on the other hand is amazing, we are in the heart of the old part of town and it is so beautiful and it is a little surreal that we are even in Canada at all.
The city is primeraly French, although most bilingal and was designed in France before the settelers even arrived in Montreal in the 16th century. The buildings are decorated and everywhere you look Theres a dome, bell tower or ahead of them.
The hostel is too big, we are in the attic of a building with 2ft thick stone walls and wooden beams and we have air mattresses have it floor with curtains and lights everywhere in the world so that it feels as if we are camping. So much fun. Internet and breakfast is also free, which is a bonus.
We arrived last night (9th) and found that art galleries are free in Montreal on Wednesday night so we spent a few hours in
Gallery of Modern Art, which has some really cool stuff and was all Canadian artists.
Then today we explored all of Old Montreal, which covers the south-east coastal city and then explored some of the modern part. Who wasen’t almost as beautiful but it is still an idea in this regard than the rest of Canada, we were not doing that. We also looked around the muesee history of Montreal, located in an old fire station and was interesting and fun yet again.
From the sea to the south, you can also see the building built for the 1967 World Expo / fair and the botanical garden net ball thingy on an island.
Where I left last, I was en route to the great city of Norman, Oklahoma visit to Jay, one of my very good friends from the exchange in Germany. They had just suffered from some massive ice when I arrived there, and some people, like the parents of Jay, still lack electricity after a week. Fortunately Jay’s place had some, or there may have not been in Oklahoma for me, because I am still in shock that these people have lived for a week in sub freezing temperatures without heating. Norman is a very attractive town mid West, but it is a student town - they represent 30% of the general population, in order to be on holiday, there was little passing. But I had lots of experiences - go a Supertarget. Wow. Imagine a large supermarket crazy, but his target … Also a certain quality McDonalds cuisine … Who is
My next statement. While in the Midwest is very BIG. The streets were large, McDonalds was great, churches (and there were many) were MASSIVE, the selection of quality beers at the local liquor store I entered illegally is also fairly large. They had Tooheys New, cheaper than what you are buying for her at home. Oh no, they did not Ailie. Oh yes girlfriend, they did.
So I spent a very good week hanging out with Jay, and some of his roommates and friends assortment. We went to Oklahoma City one day, where the highlights would have had my picture taken in front of the newly renamed "Flaming Lips Alley", go to the Art Museum, where they have some very good pieces, and the attack the bomb in Oklahoma Memorial Who is fairly bleak. I met Jay’s parents, who both gave me a big hug and said they feel as if they already know me .. We went to ‘barbecue restaurant, "the Oklahoman experience of fried foods, smothered in a sticky barbecue sauce. ribs I had killer and even went a little crazy and eating curly fries. Jay’s father joked that he was at a restaurant
Who caused the death of Elvis.
From there, I flew off to Boston to visit my friend Lucy, also of the exchange .. Boston was also heavily affected by the snowstorms, and when I arrived, there were cars buried in snow at the side of the street … We had to jump over massive mounds of snow on the sidewalk to cross the street, but having said that, it is not that cold (acclimatization, I call it). We just spent the first night in Boston, where I met some of his friends who came over, took my first (and second and third) part of Beirut, better known as Beerpong, which is the national sport student. I excelled at it at the end of the night (cough). The next morning, Lucy, her roommate Jacob and I went in the city, and spent a few hours walking in the streets of Boston … I can not for the life of me remember what it was called, but he has been impressive this long road, with lots of small shops, bookstores impressive, and a very beautiful Saturday morning vibe. Jacob left us to go home to work, and we hightailed the house to collect all our luggage
Represents
And to take a taxi to the South Station, because Lucy is on the move and taking all his stuff at home, and I was about to have my first experience of this small island Force known as Martha’s Vineyard.
After 2 hours of travel by bus and ferry 45 minutes, we reached MV, where Lucy’s father and sister greeted us with big smiles and hugs. Lucy’s entire family is incredibly nice and friendly to me, especially since it was Christmas, and I was away from home. They all treated me as part of the family. We had a busy week with Christmas, parties every night with Luce’s friends from high school, and a little sightseeing as well. Lucy’s Christmas afternoon, and I walked a few miles to their local beach, Lambert’s Cove. It was a good idea, not only because we had eaten too much need to walk and his foot, but it was an amazing quiet little corner of the world … There were a handful of other people walking along the beach, and although my fingers almost fell cold, it was a pleasant walk.
Lucy’s mother also managed to secure
The keys to move one of the flagships … It was really fun, and not something that many tourists would really make (I know that all the important people) … Edgartown, where we went to the lighthouse (there are small towns on 7 MV) is that all whaling captains used to live, when MV whaling was a big city, and they have big beautiful white houses . Lucy and her friend Becca also took me down to Oak Bluffs one day, which is the main tourist area in the summer … Other than picking up a candy tourist t-shirt for $ 5 (which I am perhaps bring this second), we went in a large number of shops in the small shop, and I bought a large wall hanging from a shop that sold cool clothes and incense.
Great, Fantastic!impressing Place of Montreal…. Although I was dissappointed at the Emilie beginning would not have come to Vancouver, I am now very happy to have gone to Montreal and also to city of Quebec. I had much recreation, Quebec is incredibly beautiful simply and Montreal is a place occurring very part. I remained with Emilie in Montreal at his place Saturday harms, then we move to the city of Quebec to see the Quebec old man and to return visit to his/her parents who made a delicious dinner for us. Monday we spent the day to 6 flags to Montreal which was well better than Playland in Vancouver. Tuesday me and Emilie have right conduit at normal speed around Montreal and then we move to the airport for my flight towards London and on Aberdeen.
We have had an excellent travel on the Canadian guide from Woodstock to Montreal. To Woodstock, some breaches were shed. In particular, Debbie, Madeleine and Michel could not hold behind the breaches. He was sad real to go loved ones behind. Not to never occupy, the memories will live over for a moment along anchor. The travel in if of the train was much pleasant one with the meal uses the style of flights of to edge-air. To Montreal, we were satisfied to see Rowin (Mauritian to Montreal) to come to take them to the airport. Emailed Rowin (who I only know via the circle of the Internet of the friends universal) before our arrival and voluntered kindly in order to help the following day and to show Montreal to us. Rowin is a real getlteman and a ossequio to be with and after to show them around to Montreal, it has them it buys lunch to you pure. We have invited to come over to the ane that de Melbourne we will exchange ourselves. Rowin, a lot a large one ringrazia them and is a real international Mauritian. Moreover we have discussed common editions about the Community of Mauritian and the OH yes, they have similar editions like that we have to Melbourne. photo Montreal is a beautiful city with relative the own identity, bloccando the bilingualism and all it is written is in the French who in English.
I have the distance never not traversed up to now by rail in Canada, but if you do not project to lead to Montreal, rail VIA1 is certainly the manner of going! The embarking option of last minute, seats of first class, and the dinant full-service make the levelling of ticket for $75 in value it, and then it with the sight sceneic which you obtain does not import there what the class take to you.
I really appreciated the service, more especially as I travelled after a long day to work and hopelessly requiring a voyage, a rest, and a dinner comfortable. Slipping into my reserved seat, I was promptly been useful of the snacks and wood. follow-up of a fine dinner with the red wine. and there was no lack of Baileys on the rocks which helped to make my relaxation of voyage.
The momentary one beside me was an Italian girl on her way to Montreal to meet her husband and to observe the F1 race. it was really nice thus us yapped any manner to the top there and shared stories and experiments of voyage. Only four hours later, I finished to the top in Montreal of the center without argument of controls of airport. A rapid cabin-assembles far obtained to me with the bed conveniently localised of turquoise and the lunch in the boy-city which I became of last minute by reference thanks with my throat for friend. I was greeted by Giles, who carried me in top extremely to comfortable, clean, part with a splendid sight of his back-yard which was packed with flowers and a pond. The whole B&B was painted with modern vibrating colors extremely brilliant accompanyed by the modern decoration, but it felt hot, seemed charming, and was extremely comfortable that I immediately would be made to me at the house.
Wanting to leave and appreciate hot time, my evening finished perfectly with a dawdling around Montreal old man. it is the very beautiful, charming, and strange night.
As I trekked to peel more and sweet chestnut street where all festivities of weekend of race were held, my excitation and anticipation of the Canadian race of the F1 general practitioner started to build… my friends think that I am nuts, but I am a Formula One a fanatic and it is my first time where I deal with race of phase. The line of Ferrari was recreation with go to the bottom bus the proud drivers showed their new cars and of vintage, bus onlooking of the race-ventilators badaudés in admiration surely dreaming they could have one! Apparent it there with the enormous part of street on the street of sweet chestnut tomorrow, and jugding per evening that it bound to be animated. No matter who who knows I will say you that I thus like to be where the center of the part is, will not be difficult for him to guess where I will spend my Saturday harms!
